if you actualy read the BEFORE YOU START text you will see you use your keyboard

Its alright

Few complaints though. The screen should tend to follow your cursor,
The level number thing needs to leave the screen after it appears
different shades of light inside the circle, instead of a solid circle of light.

Overall graphical improvement is needed aswell.

On the upside, the game idea is very original, it doesn't follow an exact genre, its not just survival horror, its survival horror, a maze, an adventure game, and a mouse-follow at the same time
Not bad at all.

plazma1 responds:

I wanted the screen to not follow the cursor. I will get rid of the lv number thing in the darkness and i will change the solid circle of light to more detail. Graphics are poor at the moment because its a demo. Also, i can't draw Zombies lol.

Heh, alot to review I guess.

Although i cant give it a ten, due to the fact that i cant build machine guns and other assorted defence wepons on my tower while trying to build it higher and higher AND fight off some flying death balloons, I can say this is ethier the best, or second best game on newgrounds.
First of all, although Ive seen bridge builder, it doesnt inspire the urgency that this game forces, it doesn't force you to build your tower just a little faster than you really want to. Also, bridge builder has a goal in sight. Your game is completely open ended, you can build as much as you want, as high as you want. Theres no limit on pipes, theres no exact height to reach the second level, theres only the reward of getting to watch your tower come crashing down... Thats awesome. I love watching the beams fly akwardly to the bottom, pylons snapping all the way down...
Yeah, your game blew about 6 hours of time so far, by the way, and my goal is to top 2018, because I have found out that the higher you get, the more amazing it looks when it collapses. mine prolly would have gone higher if only i had remembered cross braces...it all kinda expanded out.

There are a few complaints
-A few more backgrounds when you build up, itd be sweet to see a spaceship or two.
-Although it doesnt pose a problem, i really would like to hear my tower snapping apart, or a grinding noise, somthing along those lines..
For instance, at around 1700 feet, i looked down and all the beams at the bottem were about to snap.. There needs to be a warning for that, but not like a very obvious one, more of an ambient deal, maybe the world changes color slightly, something along those lines.
-When you make the sequal, make two game modes. One sandbox, where you can build a tower without gravity, then watch it fall, and another where you really have to build to the sky...
-More beam types, like one for protecting from earthquakes, all that good stuff
-Earthquakes, Wind, TSUNAMIZ, other assorted ways to be pwned.
-Maybe add a outside to your building, and a few people inside, that way when it falls... Well, its just that much better. Also, maybe add a mode where you can try to drop things from the tower your made to destroy things on the ground, or one where you engineer your tower to destroy things on the ground.
-Make it easier to review. Theres way too much stuff to compliment and improve on here man.
-MORE TO THE TUTORIAL... Not like, "Heres how to build your tower," but more the "To delete Pylons" aspect.
-Unlockables! You need a unlockable thing, somthing along the lines of a balence meter at 2000, or a "Girder Beefer"..somthin like that.

Just gotta say, this is the longst review ive written, and thanks for reading it..Its awesome that you reply to all the reviews. Also, although im terrible at flash, I would be happy to sponsor your next project in one way or another.
Thanks for the game.

---Quick guide---
Well, this game is very, very complex. But basicly, heres how you hit about 1900. 2000 or more is more of a "Lucky" feel.
-Start out with a perfectly strait pylon up, and then over to the one across from it.
-do the same to the other side
- cross brace the tops of those two beams your just made with another, forming a X with a line at the top. Repeat this two more times. Dont worry about speed too much.
-New shape. Build one beam up, and then link it to the other side, forming a triangle ontop of your last "X".
-Build one more beam up, then across to form a square with a line in it.
-On your next square, build the outer lines at about 4 degrees towards eachother. they should come togather, but only just slightly. Also, the middle line should be pointing the opposite direction.
-Repeat 30 or so times.
-Check the bottem every so often. Brace as needed. Running outta characters, or id write more there.
-General tips- Boxes get skinnier as you go up, but not shorter
-Bottem should be short up beams, lots of bracing. 4 or so sections up, switch to light building as fast up as you can...

-Thanks for readin

VoidSkipper responds:

Thanks for such an in-depth review! I'm glad you enjoyed the game so much. I'll just respond as I go (:

-A bigger background could be possible. None of my testers managed to pass the background until after the game released, so I assumed nobody would actually get that high.
-The issue with sound is that there's an ugly cacophany of noise when the tower actually collapses. I'll find a way to mediate it for the sequel.
-There'll be much more than two modes!
-Wind is definitely in the cards. Earthquakes might be interesting in a couple of game modes, as well.
-I'd thought of that, but it becomes impractical when the connections break.
-Yes yes, I'll build the tutorial with vector graphics next time, so that I can have it longer without inflating the filesize.
-Unlockables may well be a possibility :P

Once again, thanks for taking the time out to make such an excellent review, many of those ideas will be taken into consideration for the sequel. Keep in contact, I'll need beta testers :P

Sucks man

Even if it is a joke animation, you know yourself that it still sucks. Its just a bunch of buttons that lead to poorly drawn text.

If it was for fun, thats great, but its still going to get some terrible ratings, cause, although it wasn intententional, its still a sucky flash.

Take time to actually animate. Seems you may have some talent, but show it, joke flashes are fine, but i dont think this is going to build your rep as a good animator. Put more detail into the buttons, add some sound, just take time to put it all togather. Then make it funny.
Theres little good about this flash, but i do complement the...
well cant think of anything actually. Sry man but it really is terrible.

skykid10 responds:

Thanks, sorta.
I try my best but no one appreciates it but a couple people out of 6.5 billion people.

Great concept

The shapes were not the best drawn i have seen, but i enjoy the large amount of levels.

Well, better renderred shapes, instead of a block, a character, instead of lines, some kind of solid object, like goo, a line of rocks, ect. Maybe a ninja that fades over time, somthing like that.

Well, not bad. i gave it a 5 in the hopes it wouldnt get blammed,

Hope to see more from you in the future.

majikphat responds:
